India is called a secular country because there is no discrimination between castes and religions here.

According to it government can't give special rights to particular religion. The government also can't interfere in any matters related to religion. It is called a secular country because no specific religion is followed nor any specific status given to the cast of indian state like status of buddhism of Sri Lanka.
