Well, it was the name give by islamic rulers after attacking and capturing the parts of india, the name was given on the basis of famous mountain ranges called HINDU KUSH, which currently present in the country of afghanistan. This name was given to the entire sub continent region, which vastly includes present afghanistan, pakistan, bharatvarsh or bharat (literally present india) nepal, bangladesh and myanmar. The entire name HINDUSTAN denotes the stretch of indian subcontinent which the muslim rulers dreamed of conquering our golden bird india.
