why is India Constitution made amendable?

The procedure of amendment in the constitution is laid down in Part XX (Article 368) of the Constitution of India. This procedure ensures the sanctity of the Constitution of India and keeps a check on arbitrary power of the Parliament of India.

This provision was created with a view to overcome the difficulties in case the machinery fails to work in the future. Though this provision was introduced to enhance flexibility of the Constitution, the makers were also conscious of the problems that may arise due to misuse of such power.
