☛ All strong acids and bases and most of the salts are completely ionized. Thus, in reactions, molecular equations are not considered perfect because actually molecules are not present in such reactions. However, according to some chemists, when writing about the substance participating in a reaction, ionic form is the best.

Rules for writing Ionic Equation:-

☛ All strong electrolytes soluble in water are expressed in ionic symbols whereas all weak electrolytes and covalent substances are expressed in molecular mass.

☛ If any electrolyte is highly Insoluble in water it is written in the molecular form to indicate its insolubility. But actually it is not acceptable because many such solids are ionic in Crystal form as well. This is however traditional.

☛ Finally ,for balancing the equation ,the number of atoms and ionic charges are also balanced on both sides of the arrow mark.

Ionic equations:-Chemical equations in which reactants and products are represented in the form of atoms and ions which actually participate are known as ionic equations.
