Why is ionisation enthalpy is always positive?​

Ionization energies are always positive because,the ionization nergy is the amount of energy required to remove an electron from an isolated gaseous atom. Since, always we need to provide energy to remove an electron from an atom, teh process is endothermic and so the value will be +ve for endothermic processes.
