Why is ionization enthalpy of Be higher than boron?

Just see the electronic configuration of B and Be.
For B it is 1s2 2s2 2p1, whereas for Be it is 1s2 2s2.
it is easier to remove 1 electron from p subshell rather for s subshell as it is completely filled.
so more the ease of removing electron less is the first ionisation energy.
hence B has less IE than Be.
IE of B=800kj..and that of Be is aprrox 899kj each per mole..i hope this is the right explanation
