Iron Industry is called Basic Industry because it act as need for all other Industries... As, Raw Material, Machinery and other needs... Or we can say... Iron and steel industry is known as basic industry as it provides a base to the other industries.It provides raw materials to ship building, transport equipments, machine and tool making industry, Aircraft etc.
