it is needed because there are more plains in that state so it has a desert near it .it will produce grains

The Punjab Plain is a large alluvial plain of the northeast India.Here irrigation is needed bcz the desert is Rajasthan is nearby and the rainfall is also less.the annual rainfall is less than 1000 mm.
