A sustainable community —neighborhood, village, town or city— provides residents with plenty of opportunities to enjoy a high quality of life. A world-class community strives to preserve or improve its economy, the quality of its environment, and the health and well being of its residents. A First-class community enables residents to live in a variety of housing options, and that it makes it possible —and attractive— for them to walk, bike or take public transportation to go to the places they most frequently need to go every day, such as work, schools, grocery stores, shopping malls, parks and other public spaces, entertainment and recreational areas, and fitness and health facilities.
