Why is it advised not to bring magnets near a computers??​

Computer use magnetic fields to store the information. Storing a magnet next to them will erase them. Note that magnetized scissors, and that little magnet at the top of a paper clip holder will ALSO erase them.

Television, ESPECIALLY color television, uses magnetic fields to control the picture. Storing a magnet next to a television can cause the picture to look bad -- but the damage is usually not permanent.
