Because pickels and curd have acids like pickels have various acids and curd has lactic acid which react with the metallic material of the container and form harmful substances which are not suitable for consumption.
For example: when a metallic spoon is left in the pickle jar, a black coloured inedible substance is formed, which is poisonous to eat.
