I have seen many peoples asking this question and getting answers that are themselves more confusing than the question itself.
As a Civil Engineering student I will give you a good reason.
As we know that a building is made up of concrete and like most of the things we think that once concrete is mixed and dried it becomes settled and dosen't undergo any change. That's where we assume wrong.
Cement undergoes changes from first day till very last day of its demolition, only rate changes from fast to very very slow.
