Why is it called accelerated motion?

Answer:

A point an object moving in straight line is accelerated if it speeds up and slow down.Motion on a circle is accelerated even if the speed is constant,the direction is direction is continually changing..because acceleration has both the maginitude and a direction, it is vector quantity.

As we know

☆a measure of the Change in the velocity of an object per unit time that is acceleration.

a =  \frac{v - u}{t}

this kind of motion is known as accelerated motion.

NOTE - the acceleration is taken to be positive if it is in the direction of velocity and negative when it is opposite to the direction of velocity.
