Due to the burning available oxygen get depended and it leads to incomplete bring of coal and it leads to formation carbon mono oxide gas.
It is a very poisonous gas. It is dangerous to burn coal in a closed room.

it's very simple my dear friend,
coal on burning produces CO2,SO2, and CO
that mean carbon dioxide, sulphur dioxide and carbon monoxide. Carbon monoxide is a poisonous gas as it lessens the supply of oxygen to all parts of body on inhalation. it is also known as silent killer gas. The fumes because of burning can cause lung damage or death due to smoke inhalation.
