Why is it dangerous to use electrical appliances in wet areas ?reason?

Electric appliances are made with due care that it is difficult to get hurt by them. But if something goes wrong with them such as if insulation of their wires gets damaged then it is highly risky to keep these appliances in wet areas. Electric current may enter to the water from where it may enter oir body.
So it is not recommended to use electric appliances in wet areas.
