atmospheric pressure is low in hilly areas than plain regions
the food we cook needs time to boil and as there is low pressure on high altitude which does'nt allows the food to cook properly therefore it is hard to cook food on high altitudes rather than plain regions or ground level

It is due to the low atmospheric pressure.Water boils at a lower temperature in high altitudes. Therefore it is difficult to cook food in water in such areas.
