Why is it difficult to light a matchstic by striking it on a smooth surface? ​

smooth surface doesnt provide much friction which is necessary to produce heat for stick to loght

Because for burning matchstick it requiresfriction which is more in rough surface and very less in smooth surface and therefore it is difficult to light a matchstick on a smooth surface
