It is difficult to plough clay soil because, Calcium is not leached and the soil becomes acidic.
When wet it is very sticky and unmanageable for cultivation.
Moreover, heavy rains can saturate this soil so much that the crop may die from lack of oxygen.
In short, clay soil is hard, dead and poorly aerated to grow crops.
