Its difficult to see through the fog due to scattering of ray of light by the fog droplets and this effect is also called tyndall effect.

B. Rays of light are scattered by the fog droplets
-------------------
as the light scatters when it is passed through the fog , the intensity will reduce making it difficult to see and red light wont scatter much, the red light will scatter the least and even the tyndall effect takes place in the fog
