Why is it difficult to to walk on the sand

This is because our feet are narrow and provide less surface area. Since area is inversely proportional to pressure, we apply a graeter pressure on sand yhis our feet sink and there is a difficulty in walking..

IT is difficult to walk on dry sand because dry sand have less friction.

as we pressed against the sandy ground

in backward direction.the sand gets pushed away and we get very small reaction from the ground makes it difficult to walk on sand.
