Due to less surface area.
Pressure is indirectly proportional to the area on which force is applied.
So,when we walk the pressure applied increases and it becomes difficult to walk

Explanation:
Due to the friction force present between the foot and the ground we can walk on the ground.... friction direction is always opposite to the direction of motion of the walking man.....He apply action on the ground and the ground shows reaction on the foot of the person....so that he can walk safely on the ground.....3rd law of newton....but on marshy ground...friction is absent between foot and ground...so it is difficult to walknom it...
