Why is it difficult to walk on muddy road

it is difficult because mud make the road slippery as it cover the gaps in the roads which reduces friction....thus it is slippery

in case of less friction walking becomes impossible the friction is less on slippery surface when we push our feet while walking it slips easily due to less friction similarly it difficult to walk on muddy road
