The Simple and the One word answer of this question is 'Less Friction''.

Details ⇒ It is difficult to walk on the solid Ice this is because Ice is very smooth as a result of which the coefficient of the friction developed is very less.

Since, the Friction coefficient  is less and our Normal force is unable to balance since it becomes very much greater than this. Thus, We used to skid wherever.

Hope it helps.

Answer:

due to friction

Explanation:

smooth surfaces have very little friction and as ice is a very smooth surface it has less friction which is why it becomes very difficult to walk on solid ice.
