Plain sand doesn't support plant growth well because moisture passes through it easily and it contains very little nutrients. ... Still, since nutrients are leached out of sandy soil quickly, it may not be quite as cost effective to farm row crops on sandy soil as it is in rich loamy soils.

Hope it helped.... plz mark as brianliest

Answer:

The difficult to grow crops in Sandy soils are:

1. They cannot hold water.

2. They don't contain any types of nutritions which plants required to grow.

3. In Sandy soils plants like: cactus grow because they have long root to get water from deep but in case with other plants they don't have enough long root to get water from deep.

Hope this may help you
