It is easier to swim in the sea water as compared to fresh water because sea water contains salt which increases the density of water & also increases its upthrust.

So, the body sink less in it & we can easily swim in it as compared to the Fresh water.

We know that the weight of the body will be balanced by the the Upthrust force in case we are talking about the Fluids.

Therefore, we know that the Upthrust is greater in the Sea water than in case of the Normal water, therefore, the Net weight of the body will be approximately very very low.

But when we are talking about the normal water than in that case, the upthrust is smaller, therefore, little Large force is acting on our body as weight. Thus, we will be feeling very difficult.

Now, the questions arises? Why the Upthrust is greater in the sea's water.

This is because, the density of the sea water is high, and hence its upthrust also, Similarly, for normal water it is less.

Hope it helps.
