Why is it easy to hammer a nail and not a bolt

Here is your answer!

This happens beacuse:

Nail has a pointed end while a screw (bolt) has a blunt end. 


As surface area decreases, pressure increases. 


Since nail has less surface area when compared with a screw, it is easier to drive a nail into wood as pressure is more.
