Why is it easy to open a door by applying the force at the free end of it?

as the free end of the door has lesser area thus the pressure applied on that door will be higher and this it opens easily while if we do the same in the centre of the door then then the on which the force applied will be high and thus the pressure applied will be lesser

It is easier to open a door by applying the force at the free end of it because of the larger the perpendicular distance, less is the force needed to turn the body.
