Why is it easy to push a nail into a wooden plank by the pointed end?

Hello!

The reason is that area is inversely proportional to force so with increase in area force decreases and vice versa.
Using the pointed end of nail, force applied by us acts on a small area so it penetrates easily inside wooden block.

Because of force i.e less area more pressure and more area less pressure
