why is it easy to stop a tennisball than a cricket ball?

Due to this, more force would be impressed by the cricket ballcompared to the tennis ball. It is easier to stop a tennis ball than a cricket ball moving with same speed because the force required to stop a moving body is directly proportional to its velocity.
