Why is it essential to place a coverslip gently to avoid entry of air bubbles

yes it is essential to cover object with slip

cover slip is put on the slide containing the leaf peel very gently to avoid :

(a) entry of air bubbles.If cover slip is not kept gently on the sample then air bubbles can enter making the observation of specimen difficult and reducing the resolution.
