See the ozone layer is sometimes not able to filter very less reactive rays but which r ultraviolet and if we look directly towards the sun the rays will react on our soft and delicate tissues of our eyes and therefore we shouldn't look towards the sun directly.

Hope this helps....

vishagh: So if ozone layer was effective enough, then we could look at the sun directly

looking at the sun directly can cause damage to your retina.
when the eye is over exposed to the sun which produces the UV rays,it can cause the racking of your retina.it wont directly crack it.
but it may damage he active and soft  cells in it and cause it damage too.

if you see it for a long time ,it mat even cause in partial blindness and even  permanent blindness.it attacks even the rods and cones present in the retina .

not only that,it will even damage the lens.into ones eye, when the suns ultra light rays enter, think about the poor lens!

hope it helps!!!

no2: yes some rays enter
vishagh: So if the ozone layer was perfect,we could look towards the sun with ease?
swathika23: it is but still because of todays world destroy the ozone .there is also another reason light is a sorce of light is very highly producing light that is beyond our eyes limit too
