why is it important that a very large number of sperms should be present in the semen?

very large number of sperms is present i  stemen because there are very little sperms who has power to help in formation of zygote. so is they are present in large number then there is  very little chance that  sperm is not mature or died in between. so capable sperm is selected.

Single ejaculation of semen has 20,000,000 to 40,000,000 sperms. But only one or two sperms go to the oviduct fertilise the egg to form zygote .

It forms embryo that forms an individual. It is the sperm in the semen that are of importance , and there fore semen quality involves both sperm quantity and quality.
