Answer:

The goal of sustainable development is to meet the needs of today, without compromising the needs of tomorrow. This means we cannot continue using current levels of resources as this will not leave enough for future generations. Stabilising and reducing carbon emissions is key to living within environmental limits.

Answer:

Sustainable development is described as the idea that humans should sustain by achieving their basic needs and also making sure that the future generations are left with the resources.

It can also be referred to as a way of organizing the society through which it can exist for a long time by not compromising the future generations needs for availability of resources.

For sustainable development, future generations should follow the factors i.e., preserving the natural resources along with maintaining  economic and social equality. The aim is to maintain a balance between humans and the environment as well as the economy.

The need of sustainable development from the last two or three decades, there has been an observed impact on the environment like decline in air quality, climate change, ozone layer depletion etc. All these factors if left unchanged, can cause permanent damage to the environment.

Objectives of sustainable development are economic growth, to create an economy that is sustainable and growing in the right direction. Protecting the environment which focuses on contribution by humans by protecting and enhancing the environment by reducing pollution and global carbon footprint.

Sustainable development is important because we have to use the available resources wisely and work towards maintaining the ecological balance to reduce environmental degradation and laying significance on protection of the environment and to prevent overexploitation of the resources available.
