Why is it important to define pressure as a separate quantity? Why is defininv only force not sufficient?

Force and pressure are quite different physical quantities. Force is the product of mass and acceleration of a body, while pressure is the normal force acting on a boay per unit area. Units of force and pressure are different i.e. newton and pascal respectively.
