- Social equality means every citizen must have equality of opportunity for development of his personality,irrespective of social status,caste,colour,sex,race,language,education and age.
- The demand for social equality arose in 19th century against the aristocratic privileges,salary,social inequalities on the basis of race.
- In the 20th century, social equality has been demanded on the basis of sex,caste and color.
- There may be rational distinctions in a society with regard to occupations and professions , but the feeling of inferiority and superiority should not be attached with them !
