why is it important to write kink in the graphical representation​

✨KINK:

When the scale on the X-axis does not start from zero, a kink is used to denote the missing divisions/numbers.

It is generally shown on X-axis of a graph.

the kink is used to skip many digits in y or X axis.

for.eg.

if you want to take time graph with equal intervals of 20 minutes,so, on the X axis you can directly put 20 after 0 using a kink.
