There would be too many plants competing for sunlight, and too many would die. yes many would die By the seeds dispersing further away from the plant, more stand a higher chance of survival. This is important because if the seeds are not dispersed many germinating seedlings will grow very close to their parent plant

It is necessary to disperse the seed from parent plant.. if not seedling may get affected by parent plant like parent plant cover the sunlight and itmay not reach to seedling..and it can also cause overcrowdling of seeds under parent plant if this happens many seed can't get enough water require for their growth, so it is necessary to seed to disperse away from parent plant and there are some agents which help seeds to disperse.

some agents are - air, water, animals etc.
