Why is it necessary to destarch a plant before bperforming any ecperiment on photosynthesis

It is so because if there will be starch then the plant will show photosysthesis but if the starch is lost the plant cannot perform photosynthesis.

If starch is already present at the beginning of the experiment the results will not be accurate. Hence, it is important to start off with a plant without starch. This is accomplished by de-starching the leaves of a plant.
