why is it necessary to have carnivores in a forest?

Because carnivorous animals eat the weeds and other plants ,which makes forest clean.

To maintain the ecological food chain it is necessary to have carnivores in a forest.If it is not so,then the number of herbivores will increase and thus will cause an imbalance in nature.
