It is necessary to modify Dalton’s theory because it has been proved wrong by science.
He stated that the atoms are indivisible elements but the succeeding theories of Rutherforth proved that a single atom is made up of three subatomic particles. They are protons, neutrons and electrons.
However, it is to be noted here that not everything about Dalton’s theory is wrong. Some of his finding are relevant even today.
