Oxygenated and deoxygenated blood should be separated so that there is good amount of oxygen in the body, good amount of oxygen in body will provide you with more energy, and that energy will help to maintain our constant body temperature whereas in fishes they have only two chambered heart and as a result oxygenated and deoxygenated blood get mixed and they cannot able to maintain there constant body temperature that's why we call them as cold blooded
