Rice is a semi aquatic crop which grows well in submerged conditions requiring good rainfall and sunlight. As in most parts of India, good rainfall occurs during moonsoons in summer and less rainfall occurs in winter season, so it is advisable to sow paddy or rice crop in summers and not in winters.
