Why is it not possible to isolate the poles if a magnet?

Because poles don’t exist. To illustrate it imagine current going through a loop of wire. Tt creates a magnetic field around the wire with north and south poles but these poles are virtual, merely indicating on which side the filed lines come out and which side they go in.

If in all of the above you state: There is no such thing as an absolute voltage. Current is always a difference between two things, then you are spot on. Indeed many fields only exist as a difference between two poles.

And that is also true of magnets. There is no absolute north or south pole. Just that each atom that is capable of having a magnetic field will either work against or with other atoms. And if most atoms in some rock or metal are aligned then you can measure that as a field.
