why is it not possible to isolate the poles the magnet

Because poles don’t exist. To illustrate it imagine current going through a loop of wire. That creates a magnetic field around the wire with north and south poles but these poles are virtual, merely indicating on which side the filed lines come out and which side they go in.

It is impossible to isolate a single magnetic pole. Magnetic poles exist in

pairs as magnetic field lines always form a closed loop. If magnetic field lines

originate from one pole, then another pole is required for them to form

continuous loop.
