Why is it not wise to reduce friction in every
situation ?

Friction is a necessary evil .

Even though there are many advantages of reducing friction it cannot be reduced in all situations .

For example :-

If friction is reduced between the car and road by changing the tires then the car will not stop .

If there is no friction between the shoes and the floor we won’t be able to walk .

It is not wise to reduce friction in every situation. The tiles used on the floors of the bathroom are designed with small grooves or gentle spikes on the surface. Such a design increases the friction between the surfaces of wet floor and protects us from slipping and reducing friction in such situation can be dangerous.
