Because the pencil point is made out of very brittle material, a graphite and clay mixture, while the silver wire is made out of a metal which is fairly bendable, especially while it’s hot. The materials just have completely different properties. This question is similar to someone asking why human hairs don’t snap in two when you bend them while toothpicks that are much thicker do.

hope it help..ll

neha515: I had chged my answers
Camila2382: change the word ductile ,ductility is the property in which metals can be drawn into thin sheets ,not wires

Metal like gold and silver have a property called as Mallaebility, which means that they can be easily drawn into thin wires without breaking ,Pencil lead is made up of Graphite and Graphite is a non metal so non metals don't have the property of being drawn into thin wires so it breaks easily

hope it helps ^_^
