Creating electricity from fusion most likely would come from harnessing the heat output, similar to how we generate electricity from nuclear fission power plants or coal and gas-fired plants. Heat is used to generate steam, which is used to drive turbines.

A clean energy resource. Nuclear energy originates from the splitting ofuranium atoms – a process calledfission. This generates heat toproduce steam, which is used by a turbine generator to generate electricity. Because nuclear power plants do not burn fuel, they do notproduce greenhouse gas emissions.
