A peninsula is a body of land protruding from a larger land mass with bodies of water on all sides (ie State of Florida in the southern United States

If you stood on the southern tip of Florida or any other peninsula, if you looked south, east and west….you would see nothing but water. The reason you are able to see the sunrise and the sunset being in that same exact spot is because there is no topography to obstruct your views to the east (sunrise) and west (sunset). The only obstruction you would have is the horizon blocking your view of the sun until it reached the point in the sky where it isn’t hidden by the horizon, east or west.
