Answer:

As you rise in height, the amount of air above you decreases, resulting in lower pressure. The air molecules spread out more when the pressure drops, and the temperature drops as well; at high temperature, the air molecules have more energy. This causes them to vibrate more quickly.

It is very much quieter in areas with higher elevations such as Tagaytay and Baguio when compared to lowlands.

  • As altitude increases, a simultaneous decrease in air pressure is also experienced. Along with pressure, the air density is also decreased.

  • As the frequency of sound is proportional to air density, in higher altitudes, the sound frequency will be decreased.

  • Along with the decrement of density, the temperature will also be decreased which causes to lessen the speed of sound.

  • So the sound sources at higher altitudes will have their intensity very lesser than those compared to lowland.
