Because the USB or Memory Card can have a Virus or If it is damaged than the It can also harm your System and if the Virus in USB is a Boot Partition Virus than it can completely Destroy your OS or your Image so you should Scan or Use only that USB on which you trust because some Virus will also affect your Computer when plugged in your Computer.
